Blogger Stylin' Home Tour 2016 Fall Edition

Happy Fall Y’all! I’m super excited for Part II of our fall home tours for 2016! Can you see an underlying theme happening? It’s all about the blues with pops of copper and brass over here y’all!

If you are hoping on the tour from Shannon of the Burlap & Lace blog, welcome! Shannon is a dear friend and man she kills it every.single.time! I think we may be kindred spirits of blue too :) I’m SO glad you’re here and I hope you enjoy the tour…

I’m not a huge re-decorator each season, I prefer simplicity and not to spend all of my money on seasonal decor, but I do love changing out a few pillows and an excuse to add some fresh flowers (as if I need an excuse!). I’ve said it over and over this month, it’s still freakin’ hot here in NC (praying for some cooler temps this weekend) so I’m not as into to the typical fall leaf colors as usual. But you’ve probably gathered by now that I like to push the envelope a little when it comes to decorating our home. I may not be quite as much of a risk taker if I was decorating your home. As always though, my ‘test kitchen’ is being put to the test.

So this is how my living room came together: I was in The Fresh Market looking for flowers and they had two bunches of these beautiful blue hydrangeas left and I had to have them. Then and there I new the blue would continue. Next, I stumbled across these adorable copper embellished fall napkins from Target and I knew that would be my accent color. BOOM. Seriously that’s how simply it all evolved.

The navy blue and white faux fur pillows from Gordman’s and this AH-MAZING fringe throw from HomeGoods are a couple of new additions to the space. I actually found those gray tulle pom pom’s in the Halloween section of the dollar bin at Target and sewed them onto the corners of the navy pillows to add a custom DIY touch.

Oh and the flowers on my DIY coffee table are actually artificial! You can see how I made them HERE. I spy Gritsy pie too!

I jazzed up this metal basket with a little gold paint and added some logs for an easy and inexpensive fall touch. Although we don’t have a wood burning fireplace, we do have a chiminea on the deck that we use most weekends in the fall. Like I said, holding my breath for more fall in the air so we can put it to use :)

The flowers and pumpkin centerpiece from my first fall tour have already passed away so I replaced them with this fun grayish-navy glass vase and threw in a string of LED lights. It’s so pretty on our table in the evening. Almost as good as fresh flowers :)

You can see another sneak peek of the ‘green wall’, as we’re calling it, that will be revealed on the blog soon…promise!

Playing more musical pillows in the banquette dining area. The blue stripe pillows usually reside on my bed upstairs but you never know where all the pillows are going to end up. They are from Ikea and the pineapple pillow is from At Home.

  1. I am loving the blues for fall and that throw is amazing! I miss having a Fresh Market near me for so many reasons. One is the cookies, but also your flowers are gorgeous!

  2. Beautiful! I noticed that you don’t have a rug at the front door; how are your floors holding up? I’m going to get wood floors this fall, and I wondered how they’ll hold up to my little dog’s toenails.

    1. Hi Pam! Our wood floors are 16 years old and have never been refinished so they are due for it soon! But, I’ve never had any problem when my dogs nails. :) Enjoy your new floors if you get them! I think they are extremely worth it!
