Bring it 2015 And A Blog Mini Makeover!

emailbutton_hello

Did you all have a productive RELAXING break? We sure did and I think it was the first time in the history of Christmas’s that I really didn’t stress At. All. I tried to soak in all of the fun moments and kick my feet up for a minute.

It actually feels weird to be back in front of the computer to write a post but I’m refreshed and ready to go. Now when I say refreshed that does not mean in any way that I checked off even half of the holiday break “to do” list items but no worries, I’ll get to it eventually…wonder how long this new year high with last, lol :)

But back to business it is and I’m excited to jump back in the ole’ blog saddle! One thing I did accomplish over the break (okay, two nights ago) was to install some of the new blog elements that I had designed back in July. Yep, that’s right. See, I don’t have it all together…not even close!

I was feeling the need to clean up the blog a bit and make it more user friendly so I went with a simple logo with new clean fonts and colors. I will still be tweaking some more things but at least it’s a start. Didn’t KateStevensDesigns do a great job on the design? Kate was great to work with, quick and affordable so if you need any design work done you should definitely check out her etsy shop!

I also have a new head shot that…wait for it…I actually took of myself with my tripod and my bouncing 6-year-old on the other side of the lens :) Talk about awkward and wanting to pull my hair out! For some reason little man thought it was hilarious to watch me then bounce from the camera to the couch and back to the camera again, bumping the tripod each time so I would have to re-focus. I’ve blocked the event from my memory.

Head shots always make me uncomfortable but they are a necessary evil I suppose.

Well, I’ve got a lot of fun things up my sleeve for 2015 from DIY video posts, to a kitchen renovation on a $0 budget, and some awesome new collaborations. I’ll be posting more details on my goals and projects over the next couple weeks so stay tuned!

I can’t wait to hear from you all again and I’d LOVE your input on anything you would like to see more of this year!

Cheers!

  1. Summer I love the new blog design!!! So pretty, fresh and easy to navigate, and I love the subtle nautical touch with the color and anchor. And that profile pic of you is beautiful – I can’t believe you took it yourself!! Very impressive photog skills between you and your little helper!!!! I need a little blog work so thank you for the recommendation…I’ll check out Kate on Etsy!
