My Fall Basics: Old Navy Style

Good morning friends!

I’m going to get it off my chest right now and just say I’m not comfortable having my picture taken AT. ALL.! Every bit of it is unnatural to me. With that being said I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things. That’s what is so great about this blog thing right?!?!

I’m no fashionista but I’m really trying to find a balance in my wardrobe this season and going forward. I’m looking for pieces that are comfortable but still stylish and that will transition from day to night (if I ever find myself out at night!). I know it’s going to get cold eventually but I’m still clinging to cropped pants and flats or booties for now.

This post is a precursor for my closet project for the One Room Challenge. I’m making over my walk-in closet but at the same time I plan on purging and pairing down my wardrobe. I’m hoping with fewer choices (but choices that are more flexible and better quality) picking clothes, getting dressed and also packing for trips will be less stressful.

I haven’t nailed down the exact plan yet but stay tuned and join in if you feel so inclined :)

It might seem backwards that I purchased some new items before I purged but I needed a jumpstart. I wanted to see if I could find some fall basics at affordable prices and I did! I think having these basics to build from will help the process.

I spent several hours on Saturday at Old Navy for their Stuff & Save sale and found so many great basics. The sale over the weekend was 40% off everything in your bag for cardholders but the sale is still going on until 10/9 and is 30% for cardholders (code: STUFFSAVE) and 20% off for non-cardholders (code: DEAL).

I love this Holy Chic shirt that I’ve seen all over the place but I hadn’t planned on buying it necessarily but it fit so well I couldn’t pass it up! They had several different tees with different phrases but I wanted a white one. I don’t know why cute tees that fit are hard to find but they are for me.

Here are some of the items that came home with me and a few that are still on my wish list.

I loved the booties but unfortunately I’m between a size 8 and a 9 and they don’t have half sizes :( so I’m still on the hunt for a pair.

The long sleeves Sunday Funday lounge tee might be my favorite! It is SO cozy!!

I actually bought a few pieces of jewelry too but Old Navy doesn’t sell their jewelry online (weird) so here are a few similar pieces I found.
