Home Of The Month: Lake House Sources

Good morning friends! I hope you made it through Monday. Personally I’m struggling a little this week but I’ll make it somehow :)

So here is the long overdue source post for the Lake House. If you missed the original tour you can find it here.

We had a girl’s night at the lake house this weekend while my parents were away and I think everyone was just as impressed in person as they were with the pictures. It really is a dream home and I still can’t believe how YaYa and Papa did it all!

I’ve included as many links to the direct products as we could find but a lot of them were bought locally and I couldn’t find them online so I’ve linked directly to the stores. Also, there wasn’t a lot of new furniture, bedding or accessories purchased so some of the products are older and I wasn’t able to find them.

Feel free to leave a comment if there is something you are looking for that I left out and I’l be happy to see if I can find more details. I’m hoping to have the link to a few of the tile selections later today so make sure to check back if your looking for the tile sources.

***

Well, the moral of this story is that although there are a few custom touches throughout this home most of the finishes and decor are from common local and budget type stores. I mean half of the house is decorated from HomeGoods!

You guys, whether you’re building a new house or just sprucing up your current home you don’t have to buy high end products to get a beautiful result. Most of the tile and a lot of the fixtures are from Lowes and Home Depot. I say spend the money on the things that matter like appliances, cabinets, etc then have fun with decor and accessories from affordable stores such as HomeGoods, SteinMart, At Home and more!

Stay tuned this week because I have another great home lined up for February’s tour! Also you can tag your beautiful home tour pictures on Instagram at #SShomeofthemonth for a chance to be featured !

Cheers to a great rest of the week!

  1. I’d love to know more about the exterior stone work. Is it a veneer or actual stone? (I’ve followed a few links but seem to have missed where you posted this info). Thank you!

  2. For the island in the kitchen you say Paint color (island): 50% Attitude Gray by Sherwin Williams. Does this mean you lighten it by 50%? If not what do you mean by that? Also the cabinets on either side of the fireplace are also painted but you don’t specify that paint. What is it? We are considering using Repose Grey but I think it is too dark. In the bathroom you say Repose grey on the walls and the cabinet is darker. What is the color of the cabinet?

    1. Hi Mark, thanks for reading! You are correct @ 50% means we lightened it by that much.

I believe the cabinets on either side of the fireplace are painted the same as the trim. I’ll try and find the name for you. I love Repose Grey! It can look different in certain lighting but overall it’s a great light-neutral gray. Another great light gray color is Agreeable Gray, Benjamin Moore. I’ve used this before in large spaces and it’s nice and light.

The cabinet in the bathroom was a prefab cabinet, not custom, so I don’t have that color.

Hope that helps and sorry for the delay!

  3. I am refinishing my kitchen on the coast of N.C. and am in love with this lake Home. I want to do an island like the one here. Do you know the dimensions of the island?

  4. I was wondering if you had the basic information on this home.
1 or 2 story (does it also have a basement)
    Bathrooms?
    Bedrooms?
    Sq. Ft.?

    Thanks,

  5. Hello there! What a charming and tastefully decorated home! We are in the process of building and I’m thinking about painting some of my vanities something other than white. Could you share the color of the vanity in one of the bathrooms (maybe the powder room)? Thanks so much for sharing these valuable resources!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comments Cheree! The vanity was actually not custom painted so I don’t have a paint color for you :( I’m pretty sure they did come from Ferguson plumbing and they have lots of options. Thanks!

  6. Hi! First, gorgeous home! I was wondering if you could tell me what you mean when it says 50% attitude gray?
    Thanks!!

    1. Hi Molly! Thank you SO much! The 50% means they took the color down by 50% when they are tinting the paint, so it’s less color than the original. The paint store should understand what that means. Hope that helps!

  7. I am finding so many types of flooring out that it is overwhelming. Please let me know about the wood flooring? Type and color, stain etc. Thank you.

    1. Hi, the floors are White oak 4″ boards and the stain color is Provincial. Here is the post with sources and you can also find additional sources in the comments sections. 8. Can you tell me the name or number of the plan and how many square feet. Also, who was the original designer of plan? Would architect be able to sell plan the plan as redrawn? Love this house!

  9. Could you please tell me what brand and color the shingles are? We’ve painted our home these same colors and would love to know. Thanks in advance!

  10. The sofa is from Dutchman’s! http://www.dutchmansdesigns.com/ Sorry I don’t have the direct link because they ordered it from the store.

We found the plans on this site and had the architect draw the plan from it. The exact link isn’t coming up now but it was one of the from the craftsman collection! http://www.thehousedesigners.com/craftsman-house-plans.asp

  12. Hi,
We are currently in the process of building a home. Its very similar to yours. The angled house plan and we are doing almost the same colors inside . I love the clean look in a home. I was looking at your kitchen and i would love to find out the name of your backsplash??We can’t decided if we want to do white subway backsplash with white shaker cabinets? or do gray? our island will be a light gray! i love your island and i was surprised to see its a gray as well!! it almost looks like it is a light duck blue color ( which i LOVE)! If you have any info on the backsplash that would be Great!! Thanks!

  13. Beautiful home.
What color gray was used for the exterior?
We’re getting ready to paint our house & are looking for ideas.

    Thanks!

  14. I am remodeling my 1st floor and have been looking for stone for the 2 story fireplace. The stone in these photos is exactly what I’m looking for. Could you share any more information about it, other than that it’s from Southern Stone? My search needs to end soon…and I’m exhausted!

      1. Hi Tricia! Here is the stone info. Old Southern Stone did the stone work. We can’t find the exact information but the salesman Curt will be able to tell you the color and blend of stone (sizes) his cell number is 704-622-9578 and you can tell him it’s for the Hogan house on John Connor road :) Hope this helps and sorry it’s not more accurate!

  15. I LOVE everything about your lake house. We are re-modeling a lake house on Lake Ontario and I’ve been searching for ideas for months. Will you please share your paint colors with me? We are having it painted in a week. What color did you paint your vanity in the bathroom and what color are the cabinets in the kitchen? Also, I love neutral shades on the walls — what are they? Thank you so much! You have a BEAUTIFUL home!

  16. Thanks for taking the time to list the sources. Can you tell me what you mean by 50% Attitude Gray for the color of the island? It’s beautiful and just what I’m looking for.
