July Favorite Things + What’s New Around The House

Happy Tuesday friends!! I hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the second half of your summer! I’m at the point in the summer when I wake up and wonder where it went and feel the loom of school starting in the back of my mind. As much as I would like a break from the intense heat we’re having here in NC, I’m not quite ready for fall or school starting! Although my wardrobe will be fall-ready pretty soon with all of my Nordstrom goodies arriving! If you missed my favorite picks for clothes and home from the #NSALE make sure to check them out!

There hasn’t been a lot happening around our house this month other than tons of pool time but I’ve got a bunch of great favorites for you including a few spectacular home tours and products I’m loving! So let’s get to it…

To all my girls who only wash their hair 1-2 times a week like me (or those who aspire to) this article about the French way of hair washing is for you! Give it a try, I promise you can go more days than you think! Oh and can you say…dry shampoo?!?!

I recently stumbled across this cool site with tons of removable wallpaper in fun and modern patterns.

I have to admit I’m mildly obsessed with this tassel chandelier! It would look amazing in a funky boho bungalow, don’t you think?

I just had to share this quirky home tour with you! Although not exactly my design aesthetic, I can appreciate all of the elements and how blogger and stylist, Annette Vartanian, is able to bring it all together! And check out the revival (or the fixtures that never left) of the pink bathroom!

Have you guys heard of the online store called Brandless? I hadn’t either until recently and I have to admit I’m intrigued. Everything on the site is $3 and they have anything from household supplies and food to beauty products. And you can search by Certified Organic, Non GMO, Gluten Free, Vegan and products with No Sugar Added too! The gist is you pay less because they are offering equally good products that are not major brands (aka brandless or off brands), therefore you aren’t “paying” for the label. I would love to know if anyone has had any experience with their products so please leave a comment!

Any Game of Thrones fans out there? I actually have never watched it (I know, I know!) but the real-life home of Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) is absolutely stunning…and it’s for sale guys! Anyone in the market :) Or you could just buy it for me!

The Hilton hotel brand is opening up a new line of hotels call Tru by Hilton that are hip and modern digs at affordable prices, likely accommodating the younger more budget friendly traveler! When we travel it’s usually on a pretty strict budget so I can’t wait to check one of these out on our next trip! It look like a pretty cool concept.

And finally…the current home of my dreams that is making me want to re-decorate my ENTIRE house – this gorgeous 1930s renovation project from the ever fabulous Studio McGee. I am a huge fan of Shea and Syd’s work and each and every property they touch turns out completely different and 100% amazing! This one is no exception!

So that’s all folks! Did that give you enough reading for the next couple days? I hope you enjoyed all of the July favorites and stay tuned for a Home of The Month feature soon!

Cheers!

  1. I really like how Annette Vartanian’s house is set up. Something about bright colors offset by lighter neutrals, it just works so well together. At least, in my opinion.
