DIY Painted Chiminea Fire Pit

Today we had a day off before Thanksgiving and we decided to take a spur of the moment, mini road trip to Raleigh, NC. Aren’t those the best???

Since dad finished our new deck I have been dreaming about a beautiful chiminea in the future and KK surprised us today with an early Christmas present. We had been researching where to get them because we wanted a big one that could burn regular-sized logs.

We saw an ad on craigslist for Market Imports at The State Farmers Market in Raleigh and the great thing was they were running a %20 off sale!!

I felt like I was in design blogger wonderland here. The garden accessories were AMAZING and so was all of the home decor. I used to live in Raleigh and I have never made it to the farmers market…such a shame.

I can’t wait to go back and explore more but today we were on a mission for a chiminea in the freezing rain. Here are some pictures from our trip. If you are anywhere in NC this place is definitely worth the trip!

Isn’t that some cool stuff and their prices weren’t too bad.

Next we headed to Beasley’s Chicken + Honey that we had heard about from Garden and Gun Magazine. Oh it was so worthy, the food was incredible. I had chicken and waffles and pimiento mac and cheese. Both were to die for!

Our final stop was to the Raleigh Denim + Workshop. If you haven’t heard of Raleigh Denim you should check it out. Their jeans are super expensive but they make them the old school school way. They actually sew them in the workshop on site. KK even tried on some for fun. And they also have an amazing paper airplane ceiling :) Check it out!

They also have denim crowns made for the kiddos!

 Such inspiration…wink, wink :)

When we got home we went straight to pick up Christmas trees from Food Lion, yes I said Food Lion! The best kept secret in town. The trees are only $29.95 and they are decent sized and not bad looking. We have gotten ours there at least the last four to five years in a row and I am not ashamed to say it :)

Forgive me for all the iPhone pics. I didn’t to carry the Rebel around in the rain.

I wish you guys all a wonderful Thanksgiving and I am so thankful for YOU who read and comment faithfully. May your day be filled with lots of love, family and of course great food. Cheers!
