Our Master Bathroom Renovation Fixtures and Finishes

 

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’m typing this from our #OIBHappy house while visiting friends for a few days and there’s nothing like working seaside! Today I’m sharing a little bit about the fixtures and finishes that we chose for our master bathroom renovation with Lowe’s Home Improvement and I’m excited because we are so close to the final reveal! Our Master Bathroom Renovation Fixtures and Finishes

When it comes to fixtures and finishes I like to take a few risks in designing a space and choosing brass fixtures would be considered a design risk in many of your books I’m sure. I love all things brass in home design but it’s not your Grandma’s shiny polished brass that I’m talking about. I’m drawn to the more muted, aged brass look like the champagne bronze that I chose for some of our fixtures. It’s a subtle finish that still makes a statement and is a change up from the traditional chrome, brushed nickel or oil-rubbed bronze.

…But, not everything you need for a room comes in brass or bronze so it’s often necessary to mix metals and I’m TOTALLY fine with that! The vanity I chose came with brushed nickel drawers and pulls and I think they work well with the champagne bronze faucets and the brass-framed mirrors. I even painted the spouts of our soap dispensers gold!

As an even bigger design risk, I chose these tall faucets and when they arrived I didn’t think they were going to work but once they were installed I loved them! Whew, I was anxious about that decision for a few weeks before installation but I’m glad I went with the tall ones. I think it gives the space a little more sophistication.

 

The brass/bronze finish of the Kichler vanity light fixtures blend well with the Delta faucets because they are muted and subtle too. Not shiny or brassy!

The Delta shower fixtures (also in Champagne bronze) are beautiful and like the others they tend to age a little bit with time. They are paired here with the chrome finishes of the shower door and again, mixing metals in this way doesn’t bother me. The brass fixtures are the main act and the other metals only play a supporting role.
