Our Master Bathroom Renovation Reveal

Today is the big day friends and I’m thrilled to show you the full reveal of our master bathroom renovation with Lowe’s Home Improvement that has been in the works now for over two months. Just like our kitchen or probably any renovation project, it’s hard to anticipate just how much work it will be. There are thousands of details that you don’t even think about until you are in the thick of it. But we made it out on the other side with a beautiful, modern and classic bathroom to show for all of the hard work!

Just to refresh your memory, let’s jump back a few steps and see the before pictures.

It really turned out better than I had envisioned in my head and I love every element! When you create a design board on the computer it’s always nerve-racking to see if everything is going to come together as you had imagined and it this case I’m definitely pleased!

Almost everything in here came from Lowe’s, either online or from the store, and so many of the pieces were budget friendly which means anyone can achieve this look! I used subway tile because it’s clean and classic which means it should never go out of style. And not only that it’s super affordable! So if you guys are ever in the market for tile, I would put money on it that classic white subways will work in ANY space!

We used dark grout with the same subway tile in our kitchen but I wanted a more subtle look in the bathroom so I went with a light gray grout called Silver. We carried the same silver grout to the floors and it tied in the wood-look porcelain tile perfectly! This tile was on major sale at our Lowe’s store at $2.29 per square foot which was a huge boost for the budget.

Because we saved on the floor and wall tile we were able to splurge a bit on the dark gray river rock pebble tile on the shower floor. It is a pretty small space but makes a big impact on the contrast between the shower floor and the walls. It also adds a modern element to the space which was important to me. We used dark gray grout in Charcoal with the pebble tile.

I like to DIY as often as I can but I do recognize when my capabilities are maxed out and it’s time to hire a professional – definitely for the plumbing and tile work. But the shiplap wall was a project I knew I could handle and it might be one of my favorite parts of the room. It’s such a simple design element that adds so much style and character. We also used shiplap in our kitchen…do you feel a correlation between the kitchen and bathroom yet :)

As I mentioned in the fixtures and finishes post, I love the champagne bronze finish of the Delta fixtures with the brass of the Kichler vanity lights, complimented by the other metals in the space. The vanity hardware is brushed nickel and the accent pieces on the Vigo shower door are chrome. But they all work together harmoniously, even the inexpensive round brass mirrors.

Now let’s talk about the water closet. That seems like such a formal word and kind of weird to say, doesn’t it?? Our toilet is separated from the rest of the bathroom and I like it because it creates a separate space that I can take in a slightly different design direction, but still working with the rest of the room of course.

I chose this palm print wallpaper because it’s such a small space and I thought it needed something bold – albeit not chocolate brown paint :) I was a little nervous about the choice at first but once it was installed I knew it was perfect!

Our old toilet was in pretty rough shape so I replaced it with this American Standard skirted toilet which is SO much easier to clean and I think it just looks better.

I found this cute printable from Etsy and I love what it says – Make Some Waves! It was only $5 and all I had to do was print it out on my computer! The pineapple print is my own photograph and I decided to turn it sideways for a little extra something. Both are hung in my favorite gold frames, adding yet another metal accent to the space :)

I kept the accessories in the space simple and minimal – like the acrylic soap dispensers and box and the Turkish tea-style towels – as not to take away from the design. The bamboo shades adds some much needed warmth and creates a cohesive look with the rest of our home.

The vanity has SO much space that I really don’t need to have much sitting out on the countertop which is the way I like it! Me and clutter are not friends, although other rooms in our house would beg to differ :(

One happy accident of the reno was with the Wyndham Collection Sheffield Gray vanity. I must not have read the description as closely as I should have because when the vanity arrived to my surprise it had a glossy finish…but I absolutely love it! Just like the modern pebbles are to the shower, the vanity is to the shiplap wall. Modern and classic, the perfect pair.

So what do you guys think? All I know is that you’re looking at one happy mama with a bright and beautiful space all her own! And it has nothing to do with the fact that I can stop sharing a bathroom with my 9-year-0ld :)

  1. Hi! Your bathroom is gorgeous!! 😍 I am about to remode mine as well and have been looking at different floor options. I clicked on the link you provided for your floors and wanted to see if those were the same floors you used? The color looked different on the Lowe’s website. 😁

    1. Hi Sarah! Sorry for the delay! As far as I can tell/remember that is the correct tile. It does look a little different in the pictures but I’m pretty sure it’s correct, the vintage gray. Good luck with your remodel!!

  2. I don’t know whether it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing issues with your website.
It looks like some of the text on your content are running off the screen. Can someone else please provide feedback

    Thanks for sharing your project!

  4. It looks beautiful! I’m interested in putting that same vanity in our bathroom. How has yours been holding up since you installed it?

      1. Would you say that this is more of a light gray? Some of your pictures actually make it look white. Is it a true gray or does it have more blue or beige? I’m seeing your vanity as well as a dark gray as an available option and I’m having a hard time deciding which to choose for our bath remodel. Thanks!

        1. Hi Sara! I would say it’s a medium gray that has a hint of blue. I have some blue accessories in here, particularly our rug, so it my be picking up on that but I feel it has a blue tint, not beige at all. If you had more white and grays in the room it might feel a little more gray. Hope that helps!

          1. Thanks for your quick response. Hmmmm now I’m more torn hahaha Our bath is going to be mostly different shades of grey with a white floor (why I was wanting some color besides a white vanity). They have a dark gray available but i don’t want it to be too dark. But I also don’t want blue gray…..hmmmm

  5. Your bathroom is beautiful! Love your organization :) Question on the blinds – do you feel they provide enough privacy without being lined? I’ll be ordering these exact ones, but just wanted to get your perspective on the privacy as I was planning on using them in bedrooms. Thanks!
