Hi friends! I am doing some behind the scenes blog work today and not feeling 100% so I decided to go ahead and give you part 2 of the Things I Love post.
Like we talked about before I am really trying to live by the philosophy of only keeping and displaying things in my home that I truly love. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between what you really love or what you are holding onto for some other reason. So I try to evaluate what I love (or just like) about the item. And if it is something that has traveled with me from house to house then usually it is a keeper.
#1 today is my silver dinner bell from Joss & Main. This is actually a more recent purchase, within the last year, but I love the nostalgia of it. I like the thought of cooking a meal and ringing the bell for children to come running to the dinner table.
What really happens at our house is I forget to ring it when meals are ready because I am usually too busy getting food on the table or my son rings it in the morning on his way up to my room at 7am. But, when I look at it I still think of what that might have been like or what it could be in the future.
#2 My tiny boat painting from Bombay Company. Unfortunately Bombay Company is no longer around in this area but I love the serenity of this print.
#3 My Illuzine Magazine Rack from the Container Store. This piece is a little modern for my taste but I love magazines and I like to see them out and about in the house. This is a perfect storage solution for small spaces.
What are some of your favorite things in your house? Is it hard for you to part with things and only keep what you love like it is for me?
I hope you have a great night! Turkey day is almost here :)
