Top 5 Friday: Current Favorite Netflix Shows + Movies

Happy Top 5 Friday everyone!

I thought it would be fun to share the top five favorite shows and movies that I’m loving on Netflix in case you’re looking for something to start this weekend.

Family friendly shows and FBI/CIA-type dramas are usually my preference. I try to stay away from ones that are too dark and twisted :)

I recently finished Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime and I can’t say enough about it. If you know of any good FBI shows on Netflix or Prime, please do leave me a comment!

Here are the top 5:

1. Heartland

I’m a sucker for a wholesome family drama and this definitely delivers! There’s room for acting improvement for sure but this one is great for the whole family.

2. Atypical

I don’t have actual knowledge about what it’s like to raise a teenager on the autism spectrum, but this show seems to do a good job of exploring the family dynamics in a humorous way.

3. Anne with an E

Granted I’ve only seen the first episode of this show but I’m hooked! I think you’ll enjoy this even if you haven’t read Anne of Green Gables.

*Side note: due to content surrounding Anne and the orphanage I will probably not watch this with my adopted son. Just a caution for all the adoptive mamas out there :)

4. Set It Up

This is a sweet romantic comedy and I thought it was really great for a Netflix Original.

5. Same Kind of Different as Me

This a heart wrenching and heart warming movie that is a true story. I loved it and it’s a book too!

Have you seen any of these? What are your favorites?

Next up on my movie list is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I think I want to read the book first but I’m dying to see it. Have you read the book?

Cheers!
