Wednesday Reads: Series Launch

Hi Everyone! I hope you’re having a great week! It has been busy around here with purging and organizing, office projects and just general chaos so I am feeling a bit absent from the blog.

So without further ado I want to introduce you to a new series that I am launching this week called Wednesday Reads. I love to read ~ books, blog posts, you name it ~ and I don’t know about you but I am constantly overloaded by all of the information coming at me and my desire to READ it all.

Do y’all feel that way?

I can’t stand to delete something out of my inbox without reading it or at least skimming it. It stresses me out! So naturally I have decided to make it part of my job. My job to sift through the information overload more efficiently, to uncover the things that I feel are worth reading and then pass them along to you each week

Sound fun? Some of the reading suggestions will be about home design and DIY but definitely not exclusive to that topic. I also hope to have several contributors share some of their favorite reads from time to time.

Our first Wednesday Read is an article that I came across a few weeks ago that has stayed on my mind and my heart. I first saw it on The Handmade Home’s Savvy {Sunday} post. Ashley always does a fabulous job of choosing great reads so you should definitely check her blog out.

This sweet piece reminds us dog owners of how important it is to love and cherish our dogs (and pets). Be warned: I may have boo hoo’d a little┬álot while reading this. Just giving you a heads up but it truly touched me and is so worth the read.

Life is so hectic and it can be easy to put our pets on the back burner, especially when you have kids. I know I have been guilty of this in the past but now I am consciously making an effort not to do this.

After reading the article I have been much more aware of the time that I spend with our dogs (Furby & Sunny) and just loving on them. Both of our dogs are seniors so I was struck even more by that fact because I know they won’t be with us forever.

On that note, I’ll let you enjoy the read! I hope this first one wasn’t too heavy hitting but I plan on bringing you all sorts of good reads each week.

What do you guys think about this topic? Is this something you think you will enjoy?

Also, if you have any great reads you want to share leave me a comment below and I’ll check ‘em out!

I cherish my pets all the time and appreciate their friendship! You know that already. Maybe you want to share your dogs on my blog for my series one day????

    • I would love that Julia!!! It’s funny, I realized I don’t have a ton of pictures of them and I keep trying to snap some and it’s like they know what I’m doing. Especially, Sunny my bigger dog. The minute she sees my phone or camera she turns her head. Then trying to capture the dogs and my son together it’s like roller coaster :) So fun though to see how he loves them!
