#1 Piece Your Wardrobe Needs This Season: Flare Leg Overalls

Happy Monday people! Hope you’re weekend was awesome! Ours of course was full of sports and projects but my current view is of the fire in our chiminea on the back deck finishing up this post. Savoring the end of a perfect weather weekend that I know are few and far between. The boys are busy throwing paper balls and marshmallows in the fire as the ashes float down around us. Pure joy – the simple things.

The #1 Piece Your Wardrobe Needs This Season: Flare Leg Overalls

You guys know I’m not primarily a fashion blogger but I do love clothes and I really enjoy building an intentional wardrobe. If there was only one piece I would add to my wardrobe this season it would be a pair of flare leg overalls! These overalls fit like a glove and can be worn over a striped bodysuit (my preference), with a turtleneck, a bold patterned shirt and even with a cardigan or blazer!

Of course by the time I got around to photographing and posting these they are no longer available but I searched and found a few other favorite options for you! I bought these during the Nordstrom sale this summer but it’s been way too hot here to wear them until now. Once I found the perfect body suit to go with them I knew they would be a weekly staple!

I LOVE this striped, wrap front off-the-shoulder bodysuit from Nordstrom! It’s comfortable and the wrap front is so slimming. I don’t think I’ve put on a bodysuit since the early 90’s but they work well under overalls because you don’t have to tuck! There’s no baggy shirt to worry either about which creates a slimming silhouette.

These overalls aren’t your country overalls because they have a modern flare leg, a dark wash and the bib is slimmer and fits snug! No one will think I just came off the farm in these! :)

We’re closer to mid fall now but we still have hot days here in NC! This Pelican’s SnoBall stop is the perfect new addition to our small town and is strategically located between lots of sports fields where kids play on the weekends. Let’s just say we’ve had our fair share of snow cones this season!

I can’t help but love the retro vibe of the cotton candy pink and blue walls. They really are so good too! Our favorite flavors are the strawberry cheesecake and red velvet.

Also, I can’t forget about this nail polish which is one of my favorite fall shades called Commander in Chic!

And it wouldn’t be a proper outfit post without a perfectly good blooper!

Okay, so just like the decor in my home I sometimes like taking risks with my wardrobe! This outfit is definitely a bit risky but I’m so glad I went for it! I will get so much wear out of these overalls this year! Would you attempt this trend again or would you not want to be caught dead near a pair?

Hopefully this gets your week started off right! Make sure to come back for an ORC update on Thursday and the design of a new project I’m working on!
