4th of July Style: White Romper & Birkenstocks

Monday was the first day of summer and also my little man’s 8th birthday! We celebrated at Carowinds amusement park and had a blast! As always though in NC it was hot, hot, hot!
Being from the south there is a point in the year (usually before now) when I realize that I won’t be wearing long pants again until at least September. So I’m constantly trying to find comfortable outfits to stay cool in besides my typical shorts and tank tops! That is why I LOVE this soft and flowy white romper!
It can be off the shoulder and has a lace detail on the front. It is also lined so you can’t see through it at all (which is very important obviously!). And for the price tag of $19.90 you cannot go wrong! I was frustrated because it had been out of stock for awhile but it looks like it’s back in stock now in ALL sizes! For reference I’m wearing a medium.
The romper is my alternative to shorts and tank tops and I swapped out my Rainbow flip flops for my favorite silver Birkenstocks! I can’t tell you how happy I am that birks are back in style and I’m kicking myself for letting go of my original pair that I actually bought in Germany on a high school trip. Sometimes things ARE worth holding onto :)
We spend a ton of time outside during the summer from symphonies in the park to outdoor movies and water sports! This casual outfit is perfect for all occasions!
I always keep my picnic basket and outdoor blanket close by.
If you saw my Jack and diet coke gift idea from last week you can see it also works for picnics in the park on a Friday night!
I finished the outfit off with some fun tassel earrings and my favorite Zac Posen sunnies.
Here is the inevitable and always fun blooper shot!!!

Stay tuned this week for a new statement piece that is going in my home office and a Roadtrip Reality post from one of my favorite southern cities!
And as a side note, I’m about halfway through The Weekenders and I have to admit I’m loving it! It’s the first Mary Kay Andrews book I’ve read and I’m thinking Beach Town will be next!
Cheers!
