Finally…My Love/Hate Relationship with Skincare + Makeup is Resolved!

Hey guys! I have some exciting and rather interesting news to share. I’ve decided to become a Beautycounter consultant. I know what you’re thinking, I have no business giving anyone beauty advice and you would be 1000% correct! This is definitely not my MO. But I do know 3 important things: 1. I have incredibly sensitive skin and not one product I have used or tried has irritated it. 2. Beautycounter’s main mission is creating clean products so I know what I’m putting on my skin is safe. And 3. I can get everything I need from one company. I don’t have to mix and match products and shop at multiple stores. Winning!

If I’m being honest I dislike pretty much everything that has to do with beauty and skincare. But this is the very reason I’ve grown to love Beautycounter. They do the thinking for me. Period. You can get as simple or complex as you like with your beauty routine. For me skincare is a necessary evil, so if I have to to do it I want it to require zero effort on my part.

Clean

Being a lifestyle blogger I’ve been able to try lots of products over the years and many I have liked and still use! Like Avon (this CBD facial oil is amazing!), Maelove, and Simple. What I haven’t found until Beautycounter was a one-stop-shop for ALL my skincare AND makeup. And y’all know I’m pretty lazy when it comes to this.

On top of that it’s pretty much as clean of a skincare/makeup brand that exists. You can read my blogging story HERE or watch it on Instagram stories where I explain a little more about my interest in health and wellness. We’re trying to be as clean as we can when it comes to what we put in and on our bodies.

Simple

You can pick a regime that you like (I love Countertime), use as many or as few products as you want and boom, you have a safe, effective skincare routine. Typically I only use a cleanser/face wash and a moisturizer and I’m done. I have been much better about it lately, but in the past I was lucky if I washed my face twice a day. Though as I get older I know I need to be better, but I still want it to be quick and easy…pretty much my life’s motto.

But Why?

I’m sure you’re asking why this, why now and how does this fit into Simple Stylings and this is exactly why: I do not enjoy shopping for products, buying them and most of all applying them. But I’ve accepted that it’s a necessary part of life (that actually does improve how I feel about my skin), therefore I want the simplest method possible. Please do not ask me how to apply eyeliner or contour your face (I’m not even sure really what that means) but I can tell you what is simply working for me and what I’m using.

I could also tell you all the things like how Beautycounter bans over 1800 unsafe ingredients, their high testing standards, how they use sustainable packaging, blah blah blah. But I won’t bore you with that now, I’ll share that over time on social media. For now, just know it’s safe, it’s simple and a one-stop-shop which is exactly why I jumped on board.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to flood the blog with beauty posts or pushing products. I just wanted you to know what I was doing and why. I was already using and loving their products so naturally I want to share them.

If you ever have any questions or would like samples of anything feel free to email me at [email protected]. I’m still learning so much but I can definitely speak to what I’m using and have tried. Beautycounter is an investment for sure but the products go a long way. And for me it is has been worth it for simplicity, the results I’m seeing and my peace of mind.

Here are a few of my current favorites if you want to check them out:

  1. Dew Skin. This is my favorite summer tinted moisturizer.
  2. Flawless in Five. This is a great set if you’re like me and just want to something quick and easy. I’ve tried everything in this set except the blush and gloss.
  3. The Countermatch line and the Countertime both have worked for me but Countertime seems to be most popular and geared toward anti-aging.
  4. Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel. This is on of my all-time favorites. I’ve been using it every night and it feels like you’ve given yourself a facial.
  5. Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm. I loooovveee this balm so much! You massage it into your dry skin (which I didn’t realize at first!) and it cleanses but also adds so much moisture if you have dry skin. Instead of rinsing it off, you can also leave it on for added moisture. Don’t tell anyone but I use it as shaving cream on my underarms too because I always break out there. It feels really luxurious on your skin!

These are just a few of my current favorites but there are so many more even for acne prone teens, men, kids and baby’s. There’s also a brand new deodorant that will be released soon. I’ve been able to try it for the last two weeks and so far so good! I’ll definitely be sharing more info on Instagram and Facebook so make sure you’re following along if this interests you.

And on another beauty note…I just had my eyelashes lifted and tinted (ikr?!?!) and it was the best $ I ever spent! More on that later…

Cheers!
