Fall Transition Outfit: Drop Waist Dress & Ankle Booties
Fall Transition Outfit: Drop Waist Dress & Ankle Booties
Happy day everyone! Are you guys tired of hearing about my capsule wardrobe yet? Well, if you’re interested in reading about how I got started and some of my progress click HERE and HERE.
I thought creating a capsule wardrobe was going to be a pain in the butt and a ton of unnecessary work. Once I started I really enjoyed the shift in my decision-making process when it came to purchasing as well as what should stay or go. It made me feel like I really had control over my wardrobe instead of making spur-of-the-moment purchases of things that I didn’t need or I was buying just because they were on sale.

It’s a moment to be marked too! The first black navy blue nails of the season! I love painting my nails dark and it always marks the change from summer to fall for me. I love this color by Sally Hansen called Nightwatch. It reads black most of the time but it has a hint of navy. I think it pairs perfectly with this outfit.

One of my biggest struggles in my wardrobe has been my dress selection. I own quite a few but none that were very versatile so my closet was filled with dresses I only wore every now and then. Since I had to make some new purchases in this category I made a point to choose pieces that I can use to create multiple outfits that work in more than one season.
This drop waist dress that I found at Marshall’s for under $30 is a perfect transitional piece. I can wear it with ankle booties at the end of summer and beginning of fall, and it will carry me through winter with tights and boots.
Another item I was missing in my closet was a pair of black shoes. I didn’t own boots or flats in black and I really needed to add that staple to my capsule. These wedge booties from Target are very comfortable and look great with dresses or skirts and skinny jeans too! I told you Target’s shoe selection is on point, didn’t I?!
Just like the blue shift dress that I recently shared this dress will also go from the office to church and also into the evening. So there you have it! Another versatile outfit down and I am diligently checking off my capsule wardrobe list!
Cheers!
