As a mom to an active 7-year-old boy I feel like every year (or month) my role seems to be re-defined and my wardrobe has to ebb and flow with these changes. Right now I’m knee deep in my ‘soccer mom’ role (or lacrosse in our case) and it feels like I’m constantly outside on a field somewhere, riding bikes or hanging out in the yard with friends!
Honestly the only thing I would change would be to have more time to spend playing and less time at work and school. But we all know that work and school are a large part of our lives so striking that fine balance is the never-ending chase. I don’t think that I ever find the perfect balance because as soon as I get comfortable something changes again. Am I right parents??
I absolutely love the season we’re in right now though but I find myself stuck in a clothing rut wearing jogging shorts and old t-shirts everyday. When I found these floral leggings from Albion I knew the solution to this strange wardrobe situation would be cute leggings, a flowy top with my favorite running shoes. This outfit allows me to still feel like a human being, particularly a woman, but can also transition from the field to the bike paths and even running or exercising for me! And they are as comfortable as they are cute!
And sorry for the stringy day 5 or 6 hair!
I’ve finally accepted the fact that there is no way for me to hold a set workout schedule so currently I’m jogging while my son is at lacrosse practice three times a week and biking with him on the weekends! I’m running about 1 and 1/2 miles each time which isn’t a ton but I feel much better than I did over the winter. I guess all of these sports practices are paying off by allowing me to sneak in a little exercise.
When it comes to working out I’m more of a weight lifting/cross training kind of gal. Yoga and barre type workouts bore me (sorry all you Pure Barre lovers!) so I’ve been dying to try CrossFit to tone up but it’s so expensive! I would love to hear your CrossFit experiences and whether or not it’s worth the $$!
Sometimes we stop to climb trees or ride our bikes down to the lake to catch a sunset. We have a blast exploring all the little nooks and crannies in our neighborhood!
I brake for pretty scenery too!
I love Albion’s feminine workout gear but I also love their joggers and cozy dresses. They even have kids wear too! You know if I had a little girl we would definitely be having a mommy and me moment in matching floral jackets and leggings! Here are a few of my favorites:
