Interior Design Trend: Artificial Boxwood Walls

I'm going to share a little secret about myself today that you may or may not know. I, Summer Hogan, can get a little obsessive compulsive when it comes to design ideas. Something catches my eye or an idea pops in my head and I can't let it go. I absolutely have to have it or create it.

You could argue this is a valuable "flaw" to have as a decorator and home blogger but sometimes my ideas can be a bit over the top or just too far outside of the box for my own good. Hmm, how about that multi-colored, painted bedroom influenced by an Andy Warhol-esque poster of Dennis Rodman that I inhabited as a teenager. And don't forget about that doo-doo chocolate brown bathroom (that is STILL chocolate brown)!

Then there are the occasional OCD ideas that actually work like my all white office, the counter to ceiling subway tile in our kitchen, and the color block playroom walls. So for every crazy idea that doesn't work, there is one that does. I'm hoping that's going to be the case with a fun project I'm cooking up!

Well, the artificial boxwood trend has crossed my radar and I haven't been able to shake it! I see it popping up everywhere from stylish entryways, chic outdoor pool decks and swank restaurants. The first time it really caught my eye was a few years ago at The Public Kitchen which has quickly become on of our favorite restaurants in Savannah! Pictured above.

I've got a little something up my sleeve but after all of that I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag just yet. :) But I will leave you with some eye-catching inspiration images to keep you hanging on the edge of your seats!

Okay, are you freaking out yet? Would you guys ever use faux boxwood or ivy inside your home? I would love to know your thoughts!

    Cheers!

"Interesting article. I love reading such home decor and improvement blogs.
I love indoor fountains. A fountain is a beautiful addition to your home and give a classy look to any kind of home. It all depends on your own choice how do you want it. You can opt for customized fountains. You can also check out here if you want indoor waterfalls.

I love boxwood! I can't wait to see what you're doing. I just love the color pop it brings to a room. Keep working on it!

It's ok in a restaurant but I don't care for it in the homes. Seems to me it would get very dusty and covered in cobwebs though so not sure I'd like that.

Thanks for comment Gina! I love to hear every perspective. I hope it works out but I am no stranger to DIY failures, lol!
