July Favorite Things + What’s New Around The House

Happy Tuesday guys!

In lieu of it being the last day of July (how did that happen??) I figured it was the perfect time to share this month’s favorites :) There were some great things floating around the interweb this month and I hope you enjoy them!

1. This fabulous mirror stopped me in my tracks!

2. I’ve always wanted a wall mounted paper roller like this one in our house.

3. This book came highly recommended by a friend (thanks Rach!) and it’s next up on my reading list. And the Netflix movie is coming out on 8/10 so read it quick! I have to say the name had me from the beginning.

4. Speaking of Netflix, I’ve been watching Rectify and it’s very, very interesting. That’s pretty much all I can say. It’s about a man on death row who we think was wrongfully convicted. He was released and the story is about trying to acclimate back into society in his small Georgia home town. There are a lot of other things going on but so far it’s kept my attention.

5. I’m currently a bit obsessed with the New England coastal cottage style now but my love for surf shacks will never wane.

6. Marie Kondo of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up is selling her very own drawer boxes and I might be the first in line to snatch some of these up.

7. We saw this adorable whale planter/ice bucket in Nantucket and I had to figure out where to scoop one up since I couldn’t fit it in my luggage.

8. How awesome is this 600-sq-ft Maine coastal cottage?!?!

9. I love beef and broccoli but I’ve never found a recipe tasty enough to make twice. I just came across this recipe from Creme de la Crump and I’ll definitely be trying it soon! And it’s a slow cooker recipe – win, win!

10. This article in Domino is full of great ideas to decorate boring dorm room walls for all of you college-bound kids.

I’ve been real busy around here putting together a fall landscaping plan, recovering from vacation and prepping for back to school! What have you guys been up to lately?

Cheers!

  1. The Time in Between is a great one to watch on Netflix. It takes place in the 1940s in Spain and Morocco. Beautiful scenery, clothes, music and has an interesting story. It is in Spanish but closed caption is English and itโ€™s so good you will get used to it quickly. Try it!

    1. Hi Liz! That image is not my design, I sourced it from the talented Christina Kim Interior Design. She would be the one to ask for additional information. Thanks so much for reading!

  2. We watched Rectify a few years ago….it was interesting. Just finished Broadchurch.. Eagerly awaiting Ozark Season 2 to begin. I saw one of those cute whale planters at HomeGoods recently……so cute! Your recent trip to Nantucket is really making me want to visit! Have always loved that style of house and those gardens ๐Ÿ˜

    1. Interesting is the right word lol :) I liked Broadchurch and also waiting for Ozark’s! I think we have the same tastes! Ooh I’m definitely going to check out HomeGoods! Thanks for the tip. And yes, Nantucket was AMAZING!
