My West Elm DIY Workshop

How are you guys doing?

I was so tired from the weekend y’all that I didn’t get my posts finished up. And I’m so excited to share with you about the fun DIY workshop I hosted at West Elm this weekend that I decided to change the schedule a bit.

West Elm Charlotte asked me to host a DIY workshop in their store and I was terrified thrilled and immediately said yes! At first it was hard to choose a topic because there are so many DIY’s that I love but I decided on trying my hand at teaching how to create easy abstract art paintings.

West Elm was so gracious and of course a beautiful backdrop for the event. It was nice to spend a sunny afternoon hanging out with everyone painting and creating. Thanks to everyone who came out!

Abstract art can be so easy to create yourself and is such a great addition to a gallery wall in your home or even as a focal point depending on how brave you are :) Even if you aren’t an artist I think being able to use your own creations in decorating adds such a personal personal touch to your home.

Everyone had a great time and we even had a few kiddos show us adults how it’s done with their painting skills.

We had such a fun time and I can’t wait for more events like this. It really does feel good to get out in the community and share what I love doing. I could imagine hosting these types of events on a regular basis.

Charlotte friends…would you like to see events like this more often?

I hope you guys have a great rest of the week! Stay tuned for some kitchen/dining room progress!

If you don’t have the time or energy to tackle the painting on your own West Elm has an amazing selection of artwork and here are a few of my favorite abstract pieces!

  1. Ha! My kid definitely schooled me in the art of surrendering to the flow of creativity. Nevertheless, we both had a great time, and would love to participate in future events. Thanks to you and West Elm!
