The Southern C Summit + Why Conferences Are A Must

The Southern C Summit + Why Conferences Are A Must

As a blogger and creative business owner I feel like I have to be "on" all the time. Like a doctor who's on call or a real estate agent selling homes. The work never stops and there is little separation between home and office. It can be overwhelming to say the least. Don't get me wrong it's rewarding and there are so many benefits but I find myself needing to step back and re-charge on a regular basis.

Also, creativity is also not a constant. It's impossible to be creative and come up with fresh ideas ALL.THE.TIME. I find that it comes when there is something going on in my life that's worthy of writing about or creating a project around. Or I find myself inspired by new trends that I've seen, people I've spent time with, travel or the current season. Point is, inspiration comes in waves and it's easy to fall into a creative rut.

This is the #1 reason I think creative conferences, or conferences in any industry for that matter, are essential for inspiration and re-focusing on your core business values. In my experience I'm energized by surrounding myself with other people in my field and learning from experts or mentors who have paved the way before me.

If you are a blogger or creative entrepreneur of any kind I encourage you to find a conference in your niche to attend. I've been to quite a few conferences throughout my blogging career and the Southern C Summit is by far one of the most rewarding. It's small enough that you feel comfortable and welcome but prestigious enough that the creators, Cheri and Whitney, have been able to secure incredible, well-known speakers, mentors and sponsors. There's something truly special about it.

Oh and this is not just a blogging conference, in fact the Southern C Summit is a conference for creative entrepreneurs across a large variety of industries from content creators to artists, foodies, designers and more.  And of course it's always a plus to have a reason to dress up, put on a little sparkle and mingle with fellow creatives during the event. I am SUPER excited about the supper at Sea Island's Rainbow Island and the farewell brunch!

Hi Jenny! I'm will probably wear nice jeans or pants with a cute tops during the day. I may change into a dress in the evening. I'll also wear a dress or skirt for the farewell brunch on Friday. Hope that helps and I look forward to seeing you!
