Top 5 Friday: Nantucket (or any outdoor adventure) Travel Essentials
Happy Top 5 Friday!!!!!!!!!
As of right now we’re into our second full day in Nantucket so I thought it would be fitting to share my Top 5 Travel Essentials for exploring a New England beach town – particularly when you will be exploring via bicycle :)
Outside of the major things like clothes and toiletries, these are the 5 most important items we packed. We don’t have a car and the weather is significantly cooler than NC so we were really trying to prepare for everything.
***
1. Picnic backpack.
Since we’re biking everywhere we’ll need to carry stuff with us so we thought this would be the perfect solution for some water and maybe a little wine and cheese for a picnic on the beach :)
2. Windbreaker.
The highs are in the mid 70’s all week and I’m guessing there’ll be some wind too, so this light windbreaker should come in handy!
3. A nice camera.
I don’t always travel with my nice camera because iPhones are pretty sufficient these days, but I’m going to try and get a few great beach shots to frame. The Canon Rebel is a great mid-line DSLR!
4. The Island (or any Elin Hilderbrand book).
I’m a sucker for an easy reading romcom-type book and lots of Elin Hilderbrand’s books are based in Nantucket. This is the last book I read and it was a fun one!
5. Good walking/running shoes.
Like I said we’ll be on foot or bike all week so great shoes are a must! My everyday walking/running shoes were worn out so I recently snagged this new pair of New Balance shoes and they have a memory foam insole and are SOOOO comfy! Seriously so good.
Well, guys, if any of you are headed out on a vacation adventure that involves a lot of outdoor walking and biking I hope this little list helps!
Have a great weekend and make sure to follow along on Instagram to see some Nantucket sights!
Cheers!
