Easy Slow Cooker Chili Recipe

An easy and healthy chili recipe made in the slow cooker. Set it and forgeti!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound organic ground turkey or grass fed ground beef, brown
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 1 1 can organic kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 14.5 ounce can organic diced tomatoes
  • 1 14.5 ounce can water
  • 1 8 ounce can organic tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon organic tomato paste
  • 1 package chili seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, himalayan pink preferred
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon coconut palm sugar (optional)
  • A few dashes of hot sauce to taste (optional

Instructions
 

  • Brown meat with diced onions and drain. Add all ingredients into the crockpot. Set slow cooker on low for approximately 4-5 hours. Time will vary depending on the slow cooker but it should be get to bubbling. Spoon into bowls and top with sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions. Serve with tortilla chips or cornbread.
    **Optional: About 20 minutes before serving stir in the brown sugar. The brown sugar doesn’t make the chili sweet but it cuts the smoky/salty flavor. To make the chili spicy add a few dashes of hot sauce.
    **If you need it ready in a couple hours set crockpot to high and cook until bubbly and beans are tender.  

Notes
