Top 5 Friday: Must-Have Summer Outfit Staples
Happy Top 5 Friday y’all! And TGIF too!
Who’s ready for the 4th of July but wishing that it would fall on a Friday instead of a Wednesday??? Oh well, I’ll take it :)
I haven’t had a chance to put together my summer capsule wardrobe post so I decided to share my top 5 favorite summer outfit staples that I can’t live without. Outside of my gym clothes I only wear a handful of items, but here are the ones I find myself reaching in my closet for the most.
Cutoff denim shorts are probably my #1 summer outfit staple and believe it or not American Eagle is my go-to brand. I love the Tomgirl styles. Their shorts are currently 25% off right now too!
I’ve been dying to find a comfy romper coverup that would double as an outfit and this one is perfect! The minute I saw it in my google search I scooped it up in a size small from Loft and I’ve worn it a dozen times or more in just a couple of weeks.
*For sizing purposes I’m 5’7″ about 135 lbs.
Hands down my favorite (and most affordable!) sandal of the year! I’ve worn these nearly everyday for the last month or two and for Old Navy they’ve held up nicely. I get tons of compliments on them and they come in several other colors.
As much as I hate bathing suit shopping, a stylish suit is a must for the amount of time we spend at the pool. I picked this one up recently and I love the style, color and pattern. I wear a medium. Click HERE for the link to the bottoms. I bought a medium.
Oh and if you guys have any one piece suggestions for this short torso girl that actually covers the bum, PLEASE, leave them in the comments below!
5. Linen crop pants.
It’s been so hot here in NC that I can hardly stand to put on jeans or long pants but sometimes you need an alternative to shorts. These cropped linen pants are the perfect solution and I promise they don’t look nearly as frumpy in real like. :) They look even better with a cute platform wedge! I bought a small in these.
BONUS: A fun floral dress.
I didn’t include this dress in my top 5 because it’s not an everyday wear, but it’s so comfortable and the fit is great. I bought it for a casual work function but it could be worn on so many different occasions. I wear a small in this dress.
So, what are your must-have summer outfit essentials? Don’t forget to leave your one piece suit suggestions below!
Have a great weekend!
