My Casual Uniform

I don’t know about you but I’m welcoming Monday this week because there’s no school and snow is in the forecast for NC so we’re ready to snuggle up! Although I’m tempted to hit a few stores since the President’s Day deals are crazy good!

I’ll start this post by saying I’m no fashionista by any means but I do love fashion. Fashion can be complicated, tricky even, to put an outfit together that both fits well, is comfortable and looks somewhat stylish. I struggle with it almost everyday but I’m trying to master a few looks at a time.

I’ve established that my go to casual uniform is comfortable skinny jeans, a cute top (most likely a stripe) that is soft, long and loose enough to cover my bum and ankle booties. That’s it. I think I wear a version of this outfit almost everyday.

If you ask me to put together a perfectly pieced dress ensemble or cocktail party attire I’m at a loss. But, maybe I’ll tackle these next…

I think I’m with the rest of the world when I say that I LOVE the ankle bootie trend. I love tall boots too but I’m kind of over having to wear big socks with my pants tucked into them. And sometimes in NC it’s just too hot to wear them.

I like the freedom of the ankle bootie. I can roll my jeans up casually or I can still wear them over tights with a skirt for a dressier look (although that rarely happens here) :)

Add some statement jewelry and accessories and you’re done!

These jeans are from the Gap but I actually buy most of my jeans from American Eagle. Believe it or not but AE does have jeans that fit women who aren’t 14 years old at 5 ft, 90 lbs :) And every quarter or so AE’s jeans go on sale for $29.99 which when I buy mine if I need a new pair.
