Kitchen Renovation: The Chandelier That Started It All

on February 5, 2015 in DIY Projects/ Features/ Home Decor 26

Mornin’ friends!

Part one of the kitchen reno is here! I wanted to come out of the gate with a bold start to get myself in gear and I knew that this chandelier from Lucent Lightshop would be the perfect jumping off point! I also knew that once I hung it, there was no way I could leave the kitchen in it’s current state. Win, win!

{this is not a sponsored post, Lucent Lightshop did provide the light for review. all opinions are my own}

Here is the plan again in case you missed it. There may be a few tweaks coming but this is the look that I’m going for. I think it’s classic with the brass giving it a little edge.

Could this chandy be any more amazing? It arrived at my doorstep quickly and was easy to assemble! I was really impressed with how heavy it is too. This is no cheap piece, it is the real deal.

Sadly the chandelier looks out of place in the current kitchen but it’s going to fit in perfectly with the new look.

The antique brass paired with the glass discs is the perfect mix of old and new. I can’t wait to see it once some of the other projects come together.

I’m also trying to decide if the plate wall is going to stay. Thoughts? I might arrange them in a different way but not sure yet.

I was blown away when I was introduced to Lucent Lightshop on Etsy and here are a few of their other unique pieces. All of their orders are handmade and they can work with you on custom orders too!

When the light arrived I had a couple questions about sizing and installation and the customer service was tremendous. You guys I know I’m going on and on but I couldn’t be happier with my light! I may even need a couple of these wall sconces for the dining room banquette area.

Now off to complete more projects this weekend. I can’t wait to be able to see a pretty space beyond the peeling cabinets and counters, stained floors and broken appliances. All things you probably can’t see in the pictures :)

Here is a sneak peek of what’s happening in the dining room too! I can’t wait to share all the details!

It’s almost Friday y’all…

Cheers!

    Summer, first off hats off for tackling such a major renovation! Kitchens are huge budget items with a laundry list, but from your mood board to the lighting fixture install you have things under control! I love Lucent Lighting’s installations and the chandelier looks great in your kitchen! I can’t wait to see the next step with the banquet seating! BRAVO!
