Simple Style for Your Home and Life

Our Creative Christmas Home

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

I’ll start off by saying that I’m not always an early Christmas decorator but I AM that annoying person who starts listening to Christmas music in October and has attended approximately every tree-lighting ceremony within 30 miles of our house.

This year I just so happened to come across some major inspiration from Emily Henderson which made me want to get a jumpstart on my decor. And when Lowe’s asked me to share some holiday content early it was a no brainer! When I saw Emily’s California Winter Wonderland room I knew I had to have a white tree and I wanted to use a non-traditional color palette. I love a classic red and green Christmas but I also like to think outside of the box.

The key element is the beautiful white tree and I found the perfect pre-lit white pine tree and a huge selection of matte glass ornaments that would be perfect to create the look I was going for. I wanted to use affordable and accessible decor from Lowe’s and put my own spin on it!

I fell in love with Brit Bass’s brush stroke ornaments and I thought this would be a perfect little DIY project for me and my 7-year-old son to tackle together. Needless to say we had a blast making them and I think they really make our Christmas home unique this year.

Here’s how to get this look in YOUR home:

  1. Choose a white or flocked Christmas tree. (I love this tree!)
  2. Ornaments in non-traditional colors. Get creative!
  3. Lots of garland.
  4. DIY wreath project.
  5. Faux fur tree skirt.
  6. Bottle brush trees.
  7. Simple craft paper for wrapping.
  8. Top with pretty bows.

Well, we’re all decorated and the challenging part now is trying to slow down enough this season to enjoy it! Can you believe Lowe’s has such a big selection of Christmas decor?

How are you guys decorating for the holidays this year? Are you a list minute decorator or is your house all decked out before Thanksgiving?

Cheers!
