Simple Stylings Friendsgiving 2015
Good morning friends!
I was going to save this post for later in the week but in light of everything that took place in Paris this weekend I’m feeling thankful and a bit nostalgic. Living in this country we are so blessed and one of the things I know all of us are most thankful for is our friends and family. Even though it’s with a heavy heart it feels right to share this post today.
I never realized until I was older how important it is to surround yourself with true friends and I love and cherish these ladies! They must love me back too since they put up with my crazy blog shenanigans! Some of these girls I’ve known for years from our high schools days, some from work, and others I actually met through the blog and have come to know in a relatively short period of time.
No matter how or when we became friends each one of them holds a special place in my heart and I don’t get to spend nearly as much time with them as I would like. I can already sense a New Year’s resolution coming on, don’t you?
Welcome to our little Friendsgiving celebration and another sneak peek of the kitchen reno. We ran into a small snag with our open shelving but I will be sharing the last few pieces of the reno this week and next! You can also read more details about the table setting and my favorite monogram plates here.

As lovely as this little get together seems there was a twist in the story. Some of you probably already know but as we were just getting settled at the table to eat (after the food had been photographed) my son who was playing with my godkids walks into the dining room with blood gushing from his head. Quite fitting since this little soiree took place on Halloween day. I felt like we were in a movie, moving in slow motion. We jumped up and after a few almost fainting spells on my part we got him cleaned up and settled down.
The kids had been playing and he fell and hit his head on the window sill. We did have to go to urgent care and get four stitches – poor babe – but he rallied for trick-or-treating that night so after the drama it was all good! Needless to say we pretty much wrapped the party up and again I didn’t get to spend the much needed girl time BUT that just means we’ll have to have a DO-OVER!
Thank you sweet friends for loving me, supporting me and teaching me about true friendship! You guys are the best!
Stay tuned this week for kitchen updates, gift guides, my first Christmas post of the season and the details of our Sur La Table cooking experience!
Cheers!
