Weekend Wishing: Black on Black
With most of Charlotte being shut down yesterday due to snow I have to keep reminding myself that it’s Friday…then when I remember I get all excited! I love that feeling.
Now you guys know that I’m usually a casual dresser, mostly because I’m lazy or because I’m perpetually late so by the time it is my turn to get dressed I’ve already got one foot out the door. Don’t get me wrong, I love an excuse to put on a cocktail dress and have my hair done but that is a rare occasion around here.
But I found this cute patterned top from Target that was affordable and so comfortable that I decided to create an outfit around it.
If you have a hard time putting outfits together like I did (and still do many times) black on black is always a good choice! It’s slimming, most of the time you already have black pieces in your closet and it can be dressed up or down.
I basically live in leggings and I can’t stand tight fitting tops so you can almost always find me in leggings and a loose top with flats for day and heels for night.
My leggings are actually from Marshalls and have a zipper detail on the side that dresses them up. I’ve included a few similar options below if you want to check them out. I’m wearing black heeled ankle boots (sorry, not pictured) which I actually borrowed from my mom but I’ve also listed a couple below. I guess I should finally get a pair of my own because I think I wear them more than she does :) Or she should just give them to me…right mom?
Oh and a little off subject but I’ve been trying to get away from plastics in our house so I have several sets of glass food storage dishes that can also work as serving bowls. Amazon has some great deals on Pyrex food storage sets!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and keep wishing spring to show it’s face soon! This southern girl can’t handle this cold and snow!
Cheers!

OK, you’re officially adorable. Let’s be friends, m’kay?
Heather, you are the sweetest and we are mos def friends!
You’re such a cutie patootie! Love the outfit lady. This is reminding me that I need to get my leggings out more often. And I forgot that you live in Charlotte. Every once in a while we are in Tega Cay to visit my sister-in-law. Next trip down, I’ll let you know! And we were kinda laughing at the shut down, but if you guys really did get the 3″ it would have been just awful for you.
Thank so much Kyla! Leggings are my jam :) YES.YES.YES. I would love for you to visit and Tega Cay isn’t too far at all!!!
you are stunning! i decided just this year that black looks so good on everyone and from now on i am buying much more black. it is always in style.
Thanks so much Cassie! Black really is the easiest way to put an outfit together IMO :)
