2016 Holiday Home Tour: Our Christmas Dining Room
Welcome to our 2016 holiday home tour! If you’re visiting from my friend Jennifer’s home (The Chronicles of Home), welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! Jennifer’s home is beautiful and just a happy space, isn’t it?
In case you didn’t already know Christmas home tours are probably some of my favorite posts of the year. I look forward to seeing everyone’s homes decked out for the holidays and I also enjoy putting ours together a little bit differently every year.
This year I’ve done something that I haven’t actually done before. I stuck with a very traditional theme, red and green with pops of gold. We’ve had such a busy past few weeks that I knew I had to keep it simple in order to keep my sanity. I already had a lot of the red ornaments from a previous Christmas but I’ve never decorated with primarily green and red, believe it or not.
I used simple garland from Trader Joe’s to frame the bar area and the window in the kitchen. Our white dishes are from IKEA and I picked up the gold chargers last year from our local Habitat Restore. The gold flatware came from Target and I found it in an a la carte situation where you could buy them individually. I found this to be much more affordable than buying full place settings. Also, fresh flowers are a must for any table setting and I added a few red faux springs to this arrangement. The small lumbar pillows are from Michaels.
Well, enough of me blabbing on! Enjoy the tour…
