Small Business Saturday 2016
Happy Small Business Saturday friends! Our family has always been a small business owner and I’ve seen the ups and downs of that through the years. But I don’t think I really appreciated what it meant until I became a small business owner myself. It’s tough y’all and the passion we feel for our business is real. I can’t tell you how many sleepless nights and early mornings I have had because of it, too many to count, but there is NOTHING I would change. I’m so happy to finally doing what I love (part-time at least) and I love to support my fellow small biz owners. I can’t possibly name them all but I want to share a few of my favorites with you and I hope you guys spend some time shopping small and locally this season!
My friend Lois Ellen’s dad owns this sweet general store in our home town of Huntersville, NC. It is a little gem so if you live nearby or are passing through make sure to stop in!
Dressing Rooms Interiors
I have the pleasure of knowing Ariene and she has been a huge supporter of the blogging community. I’m so thrilled that she just opened her very own brick & mortar in Charlotte so definitely stop in asap! Her design aesthetic is on point!

This company makes custom window shades at affordable prices and I can’t wait to show you a little something from them in my upcoming kitchen reveal! You will not want to miss it! Check them out for all your window treatment needs!
Elle & J
Madeline of Elle & J has become a friend of mine (I recently painted a dresser for her) and she makes the most beautiful jewelry! I love her tassel necklaces.
The light fixture that jumpstarted our kitchen reno is from this amazingly creative, custom lighting shop! Trust me when I say you’ll be seeing them in every home magazine soon!
Brit is one of my all-time favorite abstract artists out of Atlanta, GA and she also sells brushstroke Christmas ornaments, phone cases, notecards and more!
I pretty much obsessed with Mandy of Waiting on Martha! She has always been a blogging inspiration to me and she also has a store in Atlanta that I was able to visit a couple months ago. She has an awesome selection of fun and quirky gifts and home decor!
Um, only the shop that sells my favorite skirt in the whole wide world!!! They also have a similar Christmas style skirt that I love!
Jesse of Scout & Nimble is the sweetest and she has created one heck of an awesome biz! The shop is full of unique furniture and home decor so make sure to check them out!
I love Lakeitha of Wrist SoireĂ©’s gorgeous jewelry collection! I own two of her classic tassel bracelet’s, the Amelia bracelet and I’ve got the Amelia stud earrings in my cart!
Katie Craig is another artist I love and I found her when I was shopping online at Minted. She is a featured artist at Minted and her abstract paintings are just stunning!
And hands down my favorite cupcake ever!!!!! And I promise I’m not biased even though my dear friend Heather and her family own this delicious bakery! If you haven’t had their cupcakes, run (don’t walk) and thank me later :)

And I can’t forget two of my fellow blogger bosses! Mallory of Style Your Senses knocks my socks off with her savvy biz ways and Beth of designPOST Interiors can seriously decorate and style a room like nobody’s business! Their blogs are a must read for sure!

I seriously could go on and on with all of the small businesses I have grown to know and love but I hope you enjoyed this little snippet. I think it’s so important to our communities support these small, local businesses and I can’t wait to discover more.
What do you think? Would you like to see more small businesses highlighted here on the blog?
Cheers!
Such a good round up! I love a general store- you need to take me!
Let’s go!!!
Thanks for the shout out! ?
Of course!
