{Photos by Paige Winn Photo}
TGIF y’all!!! I’m couldn’t be more excited for the end of this week and the start of a weekend full of great weather! On top of that it’s Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours Halloween Edition! Woot woot! Hopefully you caught all of the great tours yesterday and if you’re here visiting from Nesting with Grace, welcome! Isn’t Brooke’s home lovely?
Well, without further ado let’s get started…

I really do love decorating for all holidays but I don’t like to spend a lot of money! I’ll splurge on a few investment items like Christmas trees or other decor that will last for years but I refuse to drop lots of money on knick knacks and accessories. If I’m going to spend anything I like to spend it on fresh flowers or live decor like pumpkins and wreaths. So this year I pulled out what few Halloween decorations we have and hit up the Target dollar bin for a few inexpensive items that make a big impact.
The garland and adhesive bats are so fun and whimsical and only put me out a few bucks. We had the crows, spiders and the Happy Halloween banner (which I also think came from the dollar bin last year) and with the few other items our decorating is complete. I think I spent about $39 total on accessories and $18 of that were for the $.69 white pumpkins from Trader Joe’s which will last me through Thanksgiving.
I did splurge another $30 on the scary light-up longhorn but this is an investment piece as I’ll use it over the years and I just might use it (without the lights) in a design I’m working on. It looks so real that it could easily be used in a room not decked out for Halloween :)

The marble pumpkin and pillows, all of the garland, the banner and the bats all came from the Target dollar bin. The already had the crows and I’m not sure where they are from but probably Goodwill :)
We picked up these adorable light-up pumpkins last year from The Habitat Store for a dollar or two a piece! The skull is old too and received quick coat of gold spray paint.
More simple bats and white pumpkins add just a touch of festive to the kitchen!
And last but not least, I simply put away the blue pillows and focused on the bright white ones to tie in with the rest of the black and white decor. I think Grits approves!
And finally the spiders, mums and pumpkins! This is our traditional front porch as my little man loves the giant pumpkins and I love the mums :) The spiders have been with us for years!
So here are my top 3 tips for decorating for Halloween on the cheap:
- Use what you’ve got
- Make a stop at the dollar bin at Target and $1 dollar stores (get creative)
- If you’re going to spend money do it on investment pieces or live, fresh decor such as flowers, wreaths and pumpkins
You can see a live tour of our Halloween decorations on my Instagram stories too so make sure to follow along!
