HOM: Modern Farmhouse With Coastal Flare by Blackband Design
Hi guys I’m glad you’re here! Today is a very special edition of Simple Stylings Home of the Month series and I’m so excited to share this tour with you.
As per usual I was perusing Pinterest and I stumbled upon a home that I absolutely fell in love with it. It’s literally my dream home, exterior and interior. I kept staring at it over and over scrutinizing every detail. I couldn’t get it out of my head and I knew I had to find a way to share it with you. I promptly emailed the designers at Blackband Design asking if I could share this home with you and they were so kind and said yes right away!!! I was thrilled and immediately begin saving the pictures and writing the post.
So without further ado, welcome to the home that makes me want to completely re-decorate my own home :) Enjoy the tour!

Every inch of this house is my dream home and the gray Dutch front door is only the beginning.
This was the image of the living room I saw on Pinterest first that hooked me immediately! It’s fairly understated in design but packs a huge punch! I love symmetry in rooms and this is perfection in my book. The whites and blues with pops of live green are beautiful.
I love a cozy slipcovered chair and the neutral furniture is balanced out by this gorgeous blue and white rug.
The kitchen is stunning, especially the island and barstools. I love the leather stools and the gray island with white marble counters.
Again, perfectly curated accessories that are minimal yet rich in color and pattern.
The open concept is to die for as is that farmhouse sink.
More slipcovered chairs that create a casual, beachy vibe in the breakfast nook.
I love the angle from the great room looking into the kitchen. And that fiddle leaf fig though!!
And if all that wasn’t good enough, here is the space that sealed the deal for me. Have you ever seen an indoor/outdoor space like this?
The only thing I might change would be to plop a small pool or hot tub right in the middle of that grassy area. :)
The office is equally adorable and I love the punch of orange.
This bedroom is just dreamy! Those woven chairs make the space feel so inviting!
If I were designing my dream bathroom right now I would definitely choose this gray herringbone tile. I’m taking lots of notes because my master bathroom is the only room in our home that hasn’t been touched. I’m seeing a bathroom reno in my future…but definitely not until 2017 :)

What I love the most about design is that your style can grow and evolve over time but there always seems to be an underlying theme that is your constant. My love for coastal decor is where it all started but I have shifted to a more modern take on it. I will never eliminate coastal style from my personal interior designs, however I love incorporating modern elements into that very style.
The style of this home epitomizes modern coastal design in my eyes with the white walls and shiplap, blue accent pieces and cozy wood elements. It’s classic AND contemporary. As I get older I find myself with a greater desire for minimal living. If you look around this house it is stunning but there are very few things cluttering counters and tabletops. The art and accessories that they use stand out and hold their own. There is no need for unnecessary accessories.
So there you have it. This is everything I want my home to be. When I picture a beautiful yet cozy, modern coastal home with a farmhouse twist in my mind, this is exactly what I see. Now please excuse me while I go spend the next 12 months redecorating every inch of my house. :)

Can you tell me where the blue glass table lamp is from? I’ve been searching for months!
Hi! I love the living room and dining room rugs in this house! Where are they from?
It’s great that you are getting thoughts from this article as well as from
our argument made at this time.
Hi! I was wondering if I could get the name of the white paint, both inside and out- this is such a dream Home, by the way!!! Stunning job.
Hi there Summer, I am a blogger at Little Brags and I am working on a blog post about spool tables. Would love to include your spool table pic and was wondering if that is ok with you? With a link back naturally? Been following your blog for a while! Love it!
