Home Of The Month: Lake House Sources

on February 24, 2015 in DIY Projects/ Features/ Home Decor/ Home Of The Month/ Home Tour 58

Good morning friends! I hope you made it through Monday. Personally I’m struggling a little this week but I’ll make it somehow :)

So here is the long overdue source post for the Lake House. If you missed the original tour you can find it here.

We had a girl’s night at the lake house this weekend while my parents were away and I think everyone was just as impressed in person as they were with the pictures. It really is a dream home and I still can’t believe how YaYa and Papa did it all!

I’ve included as many links to the direct products as we could find but a lot of them were bought locally and I couldn’t find them online so I’ve linked directly to the stores. Also, there wasn’t a lot of new furniture, bedding or accessories purchased so some of the products are older and I wasn’t able to find them.

Feel free to leave a comment if there is something you are looking for that I left out and I’l be happy to see if I can find more details. I’m hoping to have the link to a few of the tile selections later today so make sure to check back if your looking for the tile sources.

***

Well, the moral of this story is that although there are a few custom touches throughout this home most of the finishes and decor are from common local and budget type stores. I mean half of the house is decorated from HomeGoods!

You guys, whether you’re building a new house or just sprucing up your current home you don’t have to buy high end products to get a beautiful result. Most of the tile and a lot of the fixtures are from Lowes and Home Depot. I say spend the money on the things that matter like appliances, cabinets, etc then have fun with decor and accessories from affordable stores such as HomeGoods, SteinMart, At Home and more!

Stay tuned this week because I have another great home lined up for February’s tour! Also you can tag your beautiful home tour pictures on Instagram at #SShomeofthemonth for a chance to be featured !

Cheers to a great rest of the week!

I’d love to know more about the exterior stone work. Is it a veneer or actual stone? (I’ve followed a few links but seem to have missed where you posted this info). Thank you!

For the island in the kitchen you say Paint color (island): 50% Attitude Gray by Sherwin Williams. Does this mean you lighten it by 50%? If not what do you mean by that? Also the cabinets on either side of the fireplace are also painted but you don’t specify that paint. What is it? We are considering using Repose Grey but I think it is too dark. In the bathroom you say Repose grey on the walls and the cabinet is darker. What is the color of the cabinet?

Hi Mark, thanks for reading! You are correct @ 50% means we lightened it by that much.

I believe the cabinets on either side of the fireplace are painted the same as the trim. I’ll try and find the name for you. I love Repose Grey! It can look different in certain lighting but overall it’s a great light-neutral gray. Another great light gray color is Agreeable Gray, Benjamin Moore. I’ve used this before in large spaces and it’s nice and light.

The cabinet in the bathroom was a prefab cabinet, not custom, so I don’t have that color.

Hope that helps and sorry for the delay!

1 or 2 story (does it also have a basement)
    Bathrooms?
    Bedrooms?
    Sq. Ft.?

    Thanks,

Hi Taylor! It is a one story house but there is a bonus room above the garage. It’s 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and around 2500-3000 sq. ft. Hope that helps!

Hello there! What a charming and tastefully decorated home! We are in the process of building and I’m thinking about painting some of my vanities something other than white. Could you share the color of the vanity in one of the bathrooms (maybe the powder room)? Thanks so much for sharing these valuable resources!

Hi Molly! Thank you SO much! The 50% means they took the color down by 50% when they are tinting the paint, so it’s less color than the original. The paint store should understand what that means. Hope that helps!
