So, this is the moment y’all I’ve been waiting for! I am going to show you lots of finished pictures today and I will start posting details of all the DIY projects next week!

I can’t contain my excitement any longer so here goes: The Hogan Family Dreamy Deck

I am so thrilled about how it turned out!

After I started the challenge and revealed my plan I kept seeing an image from Target’s Instagram feed and commercials that captured me.

Although the setup is different I wanted our deck to feel dreamy, just like this picture. A place you never want to leave, that you can fall asleep on at a moments notice.

After seeing this I knew I had to have the canopy lights and tiki torches.

IMG_6632

I may have climbed a tree…twice…to get the lights hung! Hey, you do what’cha gotta do, right?

IMG_6390

The furniture I found is a little large for the space but it is so plush and comfy. Once all put together I think the gathering area feels very cozy.

IMG_6430

I actually decided to move the grill off of the deck onto part of the old concrete pad to avoid it being too crowded. I can move it back in the winter time if necessary.

Where the grill was I created a DIY herb garden out of quart-sized paint cans, leftover pallet boards and dock cleats for hanging to give that nautical vibe I was looking for!

IMG_6411

I was going to hang the cans along the deck rails or posts but then I realized there was just too much going on so my creative mom had this brilliant idea!

Below is the stump table and the watering can for the herbs.

Little man and I had a fun time picking which herb we wanted to plant. He chose peppermint:

I love the accessories from Target, Home Depot and HomeGoods!  I ended up with a little more color than in my original design plan but I really like it.

The navy, aqua and coral together make me happy!

Fresh fruit and flowers make the deck come alive with spring!

This is the best pic of Little Man I could get but I think it shows his excitement {about eating food on the deck}!

The pouf {aka bean bag, jumping bag} is his favorite part and he loves to call it a pouf!

IMG_6521

Darth Vader even found a spot to call his own.

IMG_6526

Furby also approves!

IMG_6288

I can’t wait to sit in my cozy chair and read as I watch kiddos play in the back yard.

I also finally found a need for a magnifying glass! This anchor one was only $7.99 from HomeGoods!

IMG_6342

And finally, the icing on the cake, the DIY marquee anchor! I love it so much and it really highlights the beverage cooler!

We had a real lighting dilemma and I just couldn’t find the right light for under the awning….so we just hardwired the anchor and I’m using that for our light :)

Gathering with friends and family is the reason I wanted this space so much and I have a feeling we’ll be out here all the time!

So I hope you all have enjoyed the the last six weeks! It has been an incredible challenge, so much more than I expected but I’m so happy it’s done. And now it’s  time to cross off #15 on the to do list: PARTAY!

I can’t wait to have friends and family over to enjoy these spring nights. Oh, and little man loves it too!

On that note, I’m taking a couple days off!!!!!!

Have an awesome weekend and Mother’s Day to all the mommies!
